Nilsen Eye Care was founded in 1998, when Dr. Eric Nilsen traveled south from his home in upstate New York in search of warm weather and a friendly community where he could set up his practice. He is thankful and appreciative to call Midlothian and Richmond his home.
His wife, Dr. Alexandra Nilsen, came on board in 2000. From there, the practice continued to grow at a moderate pace, bringing on Dr. Craig Perry in 2004 and Dr. Anthony Stacy in 2016.
We operate our family-friendly optometry office on North Courthouse Road in Chesterfield, Virginia, and serve members throughout the Greater Richmond area.
Our core values include community, teamwork and constant improvement. Everyone on our staff works together seamlessly, and what binds us together is the belief that we are doing way more than just selling glasses and fitting contact lenses. We are truly caring for the neighbors, friends and colleagues who we share our community with. We are truly proud of the preventive care model that we have developed and look forward to sharing it with you, your family and your friends!
Our sense of community drives us to stay active in Chesterfield County and Richmond through our involvement with local schools, athletic organizations, the Big Brother Big Sister Program, the Huguenot Baptist Church, FeedMore, the Susan G. Komen Foundation and more.
Our latest community project involved raising money and collecting food for our Nilsen Food Drive in November. We are happy to report the drive was an incredible success! Thanks to everyone who contributed, we delivered just under 600 pounds of food and a $570 donation to FeedMore. We appreciate everyone’s support and look forward to more opportunities to get involved with our community!
